Jeremiah 2:7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’;
for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.
I recall wanting to grow up when I was a teenager. I anticipated the days I could finally have my own freedoms and take responsibility for my life.
I knew it was going to be hard and a little scary but I was set on making my own way in life.
Another reason I wanted to “grow up” was I felt I never offered adults anything. I know I was young and naive but I really disliked the condescending tone from adults and that my voice never felt like it mattered to any adults I respected.
We see in scripture that God calls people from all walks of life. Many of the called were people who were marginalized by their culture.
I pray that we consider the voice of all people, whether it be old or young, beilver or not. We never know who or how God will speak to His people.
