Mark 10:43 But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all.
How well do I serve others compared serving myself? How many opportunities do I miss daily to be of service to others? How many more opportunities could I have taken today to show the love of Christ to others?
These are questions that I think about when I read passages about sacrifices for others.
There will always more people to serve, even Jesus couldn’t serve everyone who needed Him. As a body of followers, together as one and united with the Spirit of God we have the best chance of serving everyone in meed in our world.
God knows the greatest way to feel fulfilled in our lives and to get the most out of them is to serve others and build them up. God doesn’t glorify service to make us feel like worn out pack mules in the end. He highlights service because it is our design. It brings us closer to others and fills us with purpose.
My we serve others with pride and passion and show others the kingdom the way God intended.
