Cloud and Fire

Exodus 40: 34-35 The Cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the Glory of God filled The Dwelling. Moses couldn’t enter the Tent of Meeting because the Cloud was upon it, and the Glory of God filled The Dwelling.

36-38 Whenever the Cloud lifted from The Dwelling, the People of Israel set out on their travels, but if the Cloud did not lift, they wouldn’t set out until it did lift. The Cloud of God was over The Dwelling during the day and the fire was in it at night, visible to all the Israelites in all their travels.

God directed the Israelites in a very visible way in the days of their Exodus: appearing as clouds and fire. I wonder if it was a comfort to see God in such a way and receive such a clear sign to move on. Today, since the Ressurection, we have a new indicator in our hearts: the Holy Spirt. Just as Jesus promised in the book of John:

John 14: 25 “I have told you this while I’m still with you. 26 However, the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything. He will remind you of everything that I have ever told you.”

Like the cloud and pillar of fire in Exodus, God’s presence fills us and dictates to our souls when we should stay and when we should go. I will admit it doesn’t always feel as clear and tangible as clouds and fire but God always knew this was the best way to lead His people. From the inside out.

I pray we all have the strength to follow Christ as He leads us to new places or that we have the courage to stay where we are as we are called. His healing and powerful spirit, the one that raised the dead, dwells within us. Truly nothing can come against!

    1. Thank you Judith! I do my best. I have been praying and listening to worship music. The root of the issue at my workplace is a toxic co-worker that I talked with my manager about I feel better but praying for wisdom on the person

  1. Praise songs bring joy and peace because they turn our eyes upon Jesus and remind us Who is in control.

May God Bless your co-worker with Repentance. Anger and bitterness are heavy burdens to carry.

Revelation Media sent me a link for a family friendly movie, “The Pilgrim’s Progress”,that I’m able to share with family and friends. I sent it to the Riverwood Pastors, my family and friends. It’s based on the classic novel, The Pilgrim’s Progress”. You and your wife will love it and possibly your kids depending on their ages.
