Godly Creativity

Exodus 36: 2 And Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whose mind the Lord had put skill, everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to do the work.

As an artist I often find myself thinking: “where did that idea come from?” Sometimes things are inspired by the media I watch or other art I see, but sometimes the idea just seems to emerge from a seemingly random train of thought.

The artisans in Exodus 36 receieved God inspired passion and creativity. He inspired them with a creation that was to bring Himself closer to His people and give His people a way to live more fulfilling lives: in relationship with God and unshackled from sin.

Later on God inspired the plans for His physical temple in Jerusalem which I imagine would have been quite the sight!

We are all gifted with some level of vision or creativity. Our call is to utilize it to improve the world around us and show God’s love. Drawing souls in closer to His presence.

I hope to use my creativity to show the glory of God. He has blessed me with a talent and a passion for art and I pray daily for God’s voice to guide my work and ensure I don’t use it for selfish gain.
