Golden Idols

In Exodus 31 Israel became impatienct and lost faith. They strayed from their worship of God and decided they wanted to be free to do what they wanted and no longer followed God’s commands.

Matthew 12:30-32: “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. And so I tell you, any sin and blasphemy can be forgiven. But blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.”

Bible states that above all the most appalling sin is blasphemy against God. In other words turning away from Him. That’s really what all sin is, a disobedience of God.

We know idols can be more than just a pagan god. Anything we rely on for satisfaction that is put above God can become our idol.

Right now I fear my employment is becoming an idol. I find myself being scared of getting sent home for being sick or laid off.

I do trust God, He has got me through harder times than the ones we currently face and I know wonderful things are in store for all of us.
