“5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” Just to put it plainly. If there was still any doubt left in anyone’s head here that still may have an idol kickin around in a drawer or on a top shelf, get rid of it.
“12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man;” This was the way it was… This is still the way it is today in some Jewish culture. Dress modest, cover hair or keep it plain as to not make men’s eyes wonder and think impure thoughts or take the focus off prayer. The blame goes back to the garden of Eden, Eve was tempted, she ruined what could have been perfection…Nowadays there are woman Rabbis and they are still not widely accepted. We all know that gender is not a boundary that cuts us off from God. Our church today is blessed with a pastor and his wife who do an amazing job of teaching and guiding. God being the third rope in their marriage bond works with and through them to help reach us, the bond the two of them have together is strong and enriched with the Spirit and they help other people in relationships because they can relate and offer experience and scripture centred advice as a husband and wife only can. So I’m grateful that woman are “allowed” to have the same connection with God and teach as well. Thanks Jesus.
