A New Heart

We, as humans, are creatures of sin. Or I suppose that’s what we WERE. Due to situations we couldn’t control sin and chaos have been given to us into our physical bodies, our flesh. We hear in scripture how we are more than our bodies, despite their impulsive nature, he were sent help to reconnect to our spiritual selves.

Revelation 3:21: “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.”

Romans 7:18-19“For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

On our own we are simply slaves to our sinful nature. Compounding guilt and shame, blaming our ways and thoughts on our own wickedness. Before I began fighting the enemy and standing on the side of victory in Christ, I beat myself up for my sins. I took the side of hopelessness, beileving life is just misreable for some “unlucky” few and I just needed to get used to the fact I was one of them.

What an amazing freedom it was to find out that I am not a product of my worst parts: my sins and failures. I am a valued child of God: the creator of the universe. Set up with an inheritance with my heavenly brother: Jesus!

I hope today you and I can bask in this gift and keep in our hearts and minds the blessing that is a life with God.
